The SpongeBob Tombstone Controversy
CNN reports on a controversy involving the tombstone of murdered Army sergeant Kimberly Walker. Because she was such a fan of SpongeBob Squarepants, the sergeant's family commissioned, with the help of a cemetery employee, a tombstone featuring the likeness of SpongeBob in an Army uniform.
The controversy is not a copyright issue, but a taste issue. Apparently, the cemetery higher-ups were not aware that the tombstone would be, in effect, a giant SpongeBob sculpture. To make matters worse for them, her twin sister, still living, had a second one made for herself - at $13,000 apiece.
Now the cemetery wants them gone and is scrambling for a solution that doesn't make them out to be a bunch of evil Planktons. My suggestion would be some strategically placed shrubbery.

It's hard for me to have an opinion on the matter, knowing there's not an easy answer over this one.
