You can stumble onto the coolest things in New York City. Like the Dr. Seuss art sale at Pop Gallery. None of it is original artwork, but there are a lot of very cool prints. Some prints are from his personal artwork, some are blown up book illustrations. Some have roughs paired with final art. And then there's the Seuss taxidermy animals, faithfully reproduced from the originals. There's also a six foot tall, bronze Lorax (only $34K!).
The Goo Goo Eyed Tazmanian Wolghast |
We managed to walk out without buying anything. But after lunch, we went back. After much staring and hemming and hawing, we bought a Goo Goo Eyed Tazmanian Wolghast. We don't drop three grand at lunch as a habit, but it is, after all, a Goo Goo Eyed Tazmanian Wolghast.
Here's some more examples of what's on display....
Unless......you have MasterCard. |
It's all available on-line, but seeing full size, in person is a treat. If you're in the city, go check it out. It's at the corner of 53rd St and 3rd Avenue, in the atrium. Christmas is coming! Eventually.
